FREQUENTLY QUESTIONS

Q1.    Summer is a busy time for our family - is it really worthwhile signing up when we will miss some practices and possibly a Field Day or two?

A1.    Yes, it is worthwhile!  The Razorback program is a summer program.  We are aware that there are many things pulling families in all sorts of directions during the summer months.    We pool the players for practices and scrimmages.  We find very  quickly that the players enjoy field so much that attending practices and field days becomes a priority for them.

Q2.    Can I request that my son play with all his friends from his box lacrosse club?

A2.     No, you cannot. We seek to balance the teams above all.  Typically, all practices and all field days are at the same location so carpooling is not an issue. Our experience is that the friendships the players and parents make at the field carry over the winter and into the next box season.  We have players from all across the GELC, and beyond, and this is one of the strengths of our program.

Q3.    How many games will we play?

A3.     When it come to the number of games played, that will depend on how each team does on each respective field day.  Typically in one field day each team will play at least 2-3 games minimum.

Q4.     When are the practice / scrimmage nights?

A4.     Practices / scrimmage will be determined once coaching staff is in place either Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday. All age division will be practcing at the same time.

Q5.    When are the Field Days?

A5.    Dates for the 2019 Field Days are:

Red Deer/Lacome - July 20 & 21, 2019

Edmonton - August 24 & 25, 2019

Calgary - August 17 & 18, 2019

Provincials - Leduc - September  6 - 8, 2019

Q6.    What do the fees include?

A6.     The Registration fees will include -  field time, refs, ALA registration, field day, defensive sticks, goalie equipment, balls, and other necessities to run a successful program.

Season registration fees do not include Provincials, this needs to be registered for separately.

Q7.    How long does the program run?

A7.     The summer program runs from early May as soon as we have access to field until the September long weekend.
